Barclay E. Berdan , ,

Mr. Berdan has served a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc., since December 2015. Mr. Berdan has been the Chief Executive Officer of Texas Health Resources, one of our member owners, since 2014. Prior to his current position, Mr. Berdan served in various executive roles with Texas Health Resources since 1986, including Chief Operating Officer, Senior Executive Vice President, President of Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth and Vice President of Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital Fort Worth. He previously held leadership and administrative positions with American Medical International, Inc., Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Jackson Park Hospital.

Mr. Berdan is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and received the Texas Hospital Association’s 2013 Earl M. Collier Award for Distinguished Healthcare Administrator. He serves as Chair of the Texas Association of Volunteer Hospitals and the American Heart Association of Tarrant County, Texas and as a board member for Healthy Tarrant County Collaboration, the Rotary Club of Fort Worth and the American Excess Insurance Exchange Risk Retention Group. He is a past Chair of the Texas Health Hospital Alliance and the Texas Hospital Association. Mr. Berdan received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Hospital Administration from the University of Chicago.

Stephen R. D'Arcy , , , Board of Directors

Mr. D’Arcy has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc. and the Management Committee of Premier Services, LLC since October 2013. Mr. D’Arcy has served as a Partner of Quantum Group LLC, an investment and consulting firm since 2010.

Previously, he worked for Pricewaterhouse-Coopers LLP, a multinational professional services firm, for 34 years, serving most recently as Global Automotive Leader from 2002 to 2010. He served on the Board of Vanguard Health Systems Inc., a company previously listed on the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”), from 2011 to 2013.

In addition, he currently serves on the Board of Penske Corporation and the Hudson-Webber Foundation and served as Non Executive Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Detroit Medical Center from 2006 to 2010. Mr. D’Arcy obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Jody R. Davids , , , Board of Directors

Jody R. Davids has served as a member of the board of directors of Premier and the Management Committee of Premier Services LLC since January 2015. Prior to her retirement, Davids served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of PepsiCo from 2016 to 2019. Davids currently serves on the board of directors of Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), an independent, not-for-profit organization that delivers safe, cost-effective electric power across 15 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Manitoba.

Davids has extensive skills in information technology and organizational strategy obtained through more than 30 years of experience leading and developing technology functions for large organizations. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Davids was the CIO for Agrium Inc. Over the course of her career, she worked at Best Buy, Cardinal Health, Nike and Apple.

Davids obtained a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from San Jose State University.

Susan DeVore , , , Board of Directors

Susan DeVore is president and CEO of Premier, Inc., a leading healthcare improvement company. Uniting an alliance of approximately 3,750 U.S. hospitals and more than 130,000 other provide organizations to transform healthcare, Premier enables better care and outcomes at a lower cost.

With approximately 30 years of experience, DeVore is an industry-leading thinker who has been named to Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and Top 25 Women in Healthcare lists. She serves as chairman of the board trustees of the Healthcare Leadership Council, board member of the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare and board member, finance committee member and audit committee chair of the Medicare Rights Center. She also serves as a member of the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Healthcare, as an executive committee member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, on the audit and finance committee for Adventist Health System, and is a member of the Midwest Healthcare Executive Summit.

Under DeVore’s leadership, Premier has been recognized for building an industry-leading code of ethics, has been named eight times as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere, won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and has been named four times to the InformationWeek 500 list of the top technology innovators in the nation.

DeVore obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Management degree from McGill University.

William B. Downey , ,

Mr. Downey has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc. since June 2015. Since January 2012, Mr. Downey has been the President and CEO of Riverside Health System, which is one of our member owners, in Newport News, Virginia. He served in various roles with Riverside Health System from 2001 to 2011, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Downey is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves on the Board of Visitors of Christopher Newport University and the Boards of Directors of An Achievable Dream, Hampton Roads Economic Development, Virginia Health Network, Jamestown/Yorktown Foundation, Inc. and TowneBank – Peninsula.

Mr. Downey received a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a Masters degree in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.

Peter S. Fine , , , Board of Directors

Peter S. Fine has been a member of Premier’s board of directors since October 2013. He served previously on the board of directors of Premier Healthcare Solutions Inc. from 2003 through 2009.

Since 2000, Fine has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Banner Health. He also currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Banner Health. In addition, he previously served on the boards of directors of Accuray Incorporated and the Translational Genomics Research Institute, and as a member of the Heard Museum board of trustees.

Fine received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and Master of Arts in healthcare administration from George Washington University.

Philip A. Incarnati , , , Board of Directors

Mr. Incarnati has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc. and the Management Committee of Premier Services, LLC since October 2013. Since 1989, Mr. Incarnati has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Health Care Corporation, which is one of our member owners. Mr. Incarnati currently serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of Anthelio Healthcare Solutions, Inc., ProTom International, Inc., Reliant Renal Care, Inc. and McLaren Health Care.

Mr. Incarnati previously served as a member of the Boards of Directors of King Pharmaceuticals, McKesson Corporation, Theragenics Corporation and the Medical Staffing Network, and as Chair of the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents.

Mr. Incarnati obtained his bachelor’s degree and Master of Management and Finance from Eastern Michigan University.

David Langstaff , ,

Mr. Langstaff has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc., since September 2016, and also is a member of the board’s Audit and Compliance and Member Agreement Review committees. Mr. Langstaff has been president of Argotyche, Inc., a consulting and advisory services company, since 2013. He also serves as board chair of Monitor 360, a narrative analytics and strategy company; as proxy board chair of MorphoTrust, a biometric identification company; and as a director of The Hitachi Foundation, Inc., a philanthropic organization.

His prior career includes serving as the president and chief executive officer of TASC Inc., a defense contractor, as well as the founder, president and chief executive officer of Veridian Corporation, a NYSE-listed company specializing in mission-critical national security programs. Mr. Langstaff also served as chief executive officer and co-chairman of The Olive Group, a global integrated security company, from 2006 until 2007.

Mr. Langstaff currently serves on the Defense Business Board, which provides independent advice to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense, and has been associated with The Aspen Institute since 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Harvard University.

William E. Mayer , , , Board of Directors

Mr. Mayer has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc. since May 2013 and the Management Committee of Premier Services, LLC since September 2013. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Premier Healthcare Solutions, Inc. and the Board of Managers of Premier Plans, LLC from 1997 to 2013. Since 1999, Mr. Mayer has served as a partner and founder of Park Avenue Equity Partners in New York. Mr. Mayer currently serves as a member of the Boards of Directors of BlackRock Kelso Capital Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company, and Lee Enterprises, Incorporated, a NYSE listed company, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Columbia Group of Mutual Funds.

Over the past 40 years, Mr. Mayer has been a member of the Boards of Directors of numerous other public and private companies. Mr. Mayer currently serves on the executive committee (and was the Chairman from 2000 to 2008) of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute. He also serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of Miller Buckfire & Co. and is a board member of Acumen, the Rubin Museum and the Atlantic Council. Mr. Mayer also serves as a member of the Board of Governors at the Pardee RAND Graduate School, as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the U.S. Vietnam Dialogue Group and as the Vice Chairman of the Middle East Investment Initiative.

Mr. Mayer was named to the 2013 National Association of Corporate Directors, which honors leaders in corporate governance and in the boardroom. He obtained his bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Marc D. Miller , ,

Marc D. Miller has served as a member of the board of directors of Premier since August 2015. Miller was named CEO of UHS in January 2021 after having served as President since 2009. UHS is a NYSE-listed company headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Prior to his executive position, Miller served in various leadership roles with Universal Health Services, as well as key positions with Central Montgomery Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center, The George Washington University Hospital and Mayo Clinic. He serves on the board of trustees of Universal Health Services and of Universal Health Realty Income Trust, a NYSE-listed company.

Miller received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management and finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Marvin R. O’Quinn , ,

Marvin R. O’Quinn has served as a member of the board of directors of Premier since August 2015. O’Quinn has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of CommonSpirit Health in San Francisco since February 2019 and the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Dignity Health since 2009. Prior to joining Dignity Health, O’Quinn served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida. Before assuming his role at Jackson Health System, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlantic Health System in Florham Park, New Jersey, and held executive positions with New York Presbyterian Health System, Providence Medical Center and Providence Milwaukee Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Additionally, O’Quinn has held key positions with other hospital and medical centers in Portland, Fresno and Seattle. His board appointments include Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science (chair), PriMed/Hill Physicians, Francisco Partners and Ministry Leadership Center. O’Quinn received a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Washington.

Scott Reiner , , , Board of Directors of Premier, Inc.

Mr. Reiner has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Premier, Inc., since December 2015. Mr. Reiner has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Adventist Health, the tenth largest nonprofit hospital system in the U.S., since 2014. Adventist Health is one of our member owners and serves communities in California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. Mr. Reiner previously served in various executive roles with Adventist Health, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 2011 to 2013 and Senior Vice President from 2007 to 2011. Prior to Adventist Health, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Glendale Adventist Medical Center and served in executive positions with General Health System, Tennessee Christian Medical Center and Affiliated Physicians Medical Group.

Mr. Reiner serves on the boards of directors of Adventist Health, California Hospital Association, Loma Linda University Health and Loma Linda University Medical Center and previously served on the board of directors of American Hospital Association Region Nine. He is a registered nurse and received a bachelor’s degree from Pacific Union College, a Masters degree in Health Administration from California State University, Northridge and a Certificate in Managed Care Administration from the University of Missouri.

Terry Shaw , , , Board of Directors

Terry Shaw is currently the chair of the board of directors of Premier. He has served as a member of the board of directors of Premier since May 2013 and served as vice chair from 2015 to August 2019, and has served on the Management Committee of Premier Services, LLC since September 2013.

He was a member of the board of directors of Premier Healthcare Solutions Inc. and the board of managers of Premier Plans LLC from 2012 to 2013. Shaw is the President and CEO of AdventHealth in Florida (formerly Adventist Health System). Prior to this appointment, Shaw served in various executive roles with Adventist Health System, including Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer from 2010 to 2017, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2000 to 2010.

Shaw is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Leadership Council. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of AdventHealth.

Shaw obtained a bachelor’s degree from Southern Adventist University and his MBA from the University of Central Florida.

Richard J. Statuto , , , Chair, Board of Directors

Richard J. Statuto has been a member of Premier’s board of directors since May 2013 and previously served as the board chair from 2013 to August 2019. He was a member of the board of directors of Premier Healthcare Solutions Inc. and the board of managers of Premier Plans from 2011 to 2013.

From 2005 to September 2018, Statuto served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bon Secours Health System and as an advisor to Bon Secours Mercy Health, primarily focused on strategic growth and innovation from September 2018 to August 2019. Previously, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph Health System from 1995 to 2004.

Statuto currently serves as a member of the boards of directors of the Catholic Medical Mission Board and the Innovation Institute. He previously served as chairman of the board of directors of Catholic Health Association and as vice chairman of the board of directors of Christus Health System.

Statuto received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from Xavier University.

Ellen C. Wolf , , , Board of Directors

Ellen C. Wolf has been a director of Premier since October 2013. She previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Water Works Company Inc., the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater company, from 2006 until 2013. She served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of USEC Inc. beginning in 2003 and as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Water Works from 1999 to 2003.

Since beginning her career in 1979, Wolf has held various positions with increasing responsibility in corporate accounting, finance and business development. She served as a director of Connecticut Water, a NASDAQ-listed company, from 2015 to 2019; as a director and chair of the audit committee of InfraREIT LLC., a NYSE-listed company, from 2014 to 2019; and as a director of Airgas Inc., a NYSE-listed company, from 2008 to May 2016. Wolf also serves on the board of the Philadelphia Zoo.

Wolf obtained a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael J. Alkire , , , Board of Directors

Michael J. Alkire is the President and CEO of Premier. As the leader of Premier, Alkire leads the continued integration of Premier’s clinical, financial, supply chain and operational performance improvement offerings helping member hospitals and health systems provide higher quality care at a better cost. He oversees Premier’s quality, safety, labor and supply chain technology apps and data-driven collaboratives allowing alliance members to make decisions based on a combination of healthcare information. These performance improvement offerings access Premier’s comparative database, one of the nation’s largest outcomes databases.

Alkire also led Premier’s efforts to address public health and safety issues from the nationwide drug shortage problem, testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives regarding Premier research on shortages and gray market price gouging. This work contributed to the president and Congress taking action to investigate and correct the problem, resulting in two pieces of bipartisan legislation.

Prior to serving as President and CEO, Alkire was president of Premier Purchasing Partners, which offers group purchasing, supply chain and resource utilization services to hospitals and health systems. Premier remains among the top group purchasing organizations in the industry as the value of supplies purchased through its contracts has increased to more than $56 billion. Upon joining Premier in late 2003, Alkire worked closely with the Purchasing Partners team to develop and implement a three-year transformation plan designed to dramatically increase returns to the alliance’s shareholders while building stronger relationships with members and suppliers.

Alkire is a past board member of GHX and the Healthcare Supply Chain Association. Most recently, he was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare in 2021 by Modern Healthcare. In 2018, he was named one of the Top 25 COOs in Healthcare. In 2015, Alkire won the Gold Stevie Award for Executive of the Year and in 2014 he was recognized as a Gold Award Winner for COO of the Year by the Golden Bridge Awards. He has more than 20 years of experience in running business operations and business development organizations at Deloitte & Touche and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Before joining Premier, he served in a number of leadership roles at Cap Gemini, including North American responsibilities for supply chain and high-tech manufacturing.

Alkire graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University and a MBA from Indiana University.

John T. Bigalke , , , Board of Directors

John Bigalke has been a member of the Premier board of directors since 2019. He has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Second Half Healthcare Advisors, a healthcare strategy firm in Orlando, Florida, since founding the firm in 2016. He was previously with Deloitte USA LLP from 1998 to 2016, where he served as Vice Chairman and National Industry Leader for the Health Care and Life Science Practice from 2002 until 2012 and vice chairman and senior partner, Global Health Care Practice from 2012 to 2016.

Bigalke currently serves on the boards of directors of Progenity Inc., a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company (chair of the Audit Committee and Special Committee and member of Nominating and Governance Committee), and AdventHealth (non-voting member of Audit Committee, Finance and Strategy Committee and Risk and Corporate Responsibility Committee). He also serves on the Advisory Board of Concord Healthcare Management Services LLC and Vaxcare Inc. (chair). He previously served on the boards of Deloitte USA LLP (chair of Audit and Finance committee and member of Executive Committee, Risk Committee and Strategy Committee) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (Strategy Committee and Executive Committee).

Bigalke obtained a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University. He completed the Leadership Development Program at Columbia University Graduate School of Business and the Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Bigalke is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Helen M. Boudreau , , , Board of Directors

Helen M. Boudreau has served as a member of the board of directors of Premier since June 2020. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute and held Chief Financial Officer roles at public and private biotech companies.

Over the course of her more than 30-year career, Boudreau held positions of increasing scope and responsibility in finance in the pharmaceutical industry, including roles as Chief Financial Officer for Novartis Corporation in the U.S., global Chief Financial Officer for Novartis Oncology and senior finance positions at Pfizer Inc. Her experience spans multiple industries and functions, and includes roles at Bank of America, McKinsey & Company, PepsiCo, Pfizer and Novartis.

Boudreau currently serves on the board of directors and as chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Compensation Committee of each of Shattuck Labs Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company, and Field Trip Health Ltd., a company listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange. She also serves on the board of directors of a private biotech. She previously served as a board member and Audit Committee chair for NASDAQ-listed Proteostasis Therapeutics Inc.

Boudreau received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
